We craft simple spaces for connection.
Our process explores the relationship between designed landscapes, architecture and natural ecologies.
Rooted in the rural landscape, David grew up working in an azalea nursery. This experience fueled his love for plants, gardens and landscapes. Since then, his career has focused on the design of gardens, parks and urban spaces. He is committed to crafting plans that integrate and merge the complex elements of urban place-making with the active ecological processes of place.
David has worked with cities and towns, cultural & academic institutions, as well as private clients. His most recent experience includes working on the Asheville Riverfront, designing a new downtown park in Salisbury, as well as working on the new corporate headquarters for Corning Optical. David brings an understanding that high-quality design and successful place-making is cultivated in partnership with stakeholders through creative thinking and pragmatic implementation strategies. He has received state awards and regional recognition for public projects throughout the southeast. He is a graduate of Auburn University and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
